Salute Your Shorts

Today one of my Twins, Parker......saluted the flag in a very different way. As you see he is wearing patriotic colors. He was having a great time playing at the Orlando Science Center when his pants fell down.  oops!  I accidentally caught this little accident on camera when I was taking a wide angle shot of my twins playing in the water.  I think it is pretty amusing. Plus he had no idea his pants came down. They had a great time playing though!! The kids had a fun time playing at the Orlando Science Center's 4th of July Celebration. It rained pretty badly for a few hours this evening, so I am kind of glad we scratched our outdoor plans at the last minute. I imagine we would have 5 wet kids, one wet stroller and a lot of glum faces if we had gone ahead with the outdoor 4th of July Festival I had planned for us to attend.  I am sure by the end of the night we would have seen some nice fireworks but it may have been a hard road getting there.  We felt, at times like we had the whole Science Center to ourselves. There were people there but not too many. We did not see many great fireworks though. The view from their rooftop terrace was lovely but the fireworks were too low at times to see and too far away. The kids did get to have some fun though and in the a/c with no mosquitoes!  score!

Graham with one of the patriotic pinwheels OSC gave the kids. ;)

I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts

We went with North Orlando Sunshine Moms Playgroup to see the new Curious George exhibit at the Orlando Science Center! It was really cute but really overwhelming.  We loved the setup, however I felt that maybe they could have put it in a slightly larger room. My Twins were a little sleepy so it kind of became an overstimulating experience for them, unfortunately. We plan to go back next week though!
They had a cute little storytime area set up, complete with a Curious George statue on the bench to sit by for a cute photo op! They were so overwhelmed though that it even shows in the pics. They just have not been getting enough sleep the past few nights. I think I will be putting them to bed early tonight so that they can get more rest. Currently they are napping. I hope it is one of their normal 3-4 hour naps.  There were so many things to see and play with. I think a lot of it was geared for the age 5 -8 crowd. Many of the activities were geared towards school age children. It was such a cute set up though. It looked like a little Curious George city. They had little buildings, one looked like a hotel and had an elevator inside that you could open the doors. Behind the doors was a big picture of some cartoon fire fighters. They had a really cute slide. It is this rocket that you climb into from behind. Then you go up a small spiral staircase that leads up to the top of the slide. The slide had padding at the bottom landing. It was super cute!

In all, we had fun!

Fun fun fun at the Science Center!

Today we had a playdate at the Science Center, it was a lot of fun! They have something called Otronicon right now at The Orlando Science Center. They had tons of flat screen T.V.'s and video game systems on every single floor! So while we were there wr gamed!

Why not right?  When in Rome?  :)

We did all of the usual fun Science Center Stuff and played with the game systems in between. We had a few last minute cancellations with Playgroup members who were supposed to come today so it was just us and a friend with her 3 year old son.

Overall we had a great day except for a moment when I was a little annoyed when I ran into a local mom with Twins who snubbed me because I am not a member of gomott, the local Twins & Triplets club of Orlando. I had never met her before and she seemed half way friendly until she asked me if I was in gomott and I said no. Oh well, I can not be a member of that group because of this situation. It's not my fault so get over it people! Geesh!!

Maybe I should start snubbing Twin Moms who I meet in public who are not in my playgroup.  Nah.....I will just let them do all of the snubbing since they are so skilled at it. I happen to live in a state that is made up of mostly very unfriendly Moms of Multiples. It's unfortunate but there are a few very nice ones to make up for all of ther unfriendly snobby ones.

Anyway, we had a blast trying to figure out XBOX kinect and a few other cool game systems  they had there.

They had a lot of fun playing in the water table too... It is a good thing I took off their sweaters and let them play in their Tee Shirts, They got their Tee shirts super wet!!
All in good fun though. It is tough to play with water and not get wet, ya know?

Poor guys ended up with a slight red rash on their faces from some oil and vinegar on a subway sub. It seems like all of my kids have had issues over the years, especially in the toddler-preschooler years with condiments. Ketchup, salad dressings, mustard. They have no allergies to it but what of it gets on their faces causes a slight splotchy red rash. The good thing is that the rash normally clears within 2-3 hours and seems to cause them no discomfort. They must just have very sensitive skin.

We always have to play with the fossil dig...lots of fun! They love the Dinosaurs! The Dinosaur exhibit is their favorite part of the Orlando Science Center.

They have a blast at the Science Center, there is so much to play with!!

 Very serious gamer faces!!  haha!

We ended the day with some more fun back at one of the kids play areas!
Nap time was nearing so we received a few sarcastic faces and a bit of whining.

Unfortunately my friend bonked her head on the Train.. oww!
I accidentally took a pic right as she bonked her head! eek!
We <3 you Tera & Dylan!!
